Children's Privacy Notice

This Children's Privacy Notice supplements our Privacy Policy and explains how CombatScore (“we”, “our”) collects, uses, and discloses personal information from children under 13 years of age, in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”).

CombatScore allows parents and legal guardians to create and manage child profiles through our Family Management feature. Child accounts are always created by and controlled by a verified parent/guardian account. Children under 13 cannot create accounts independently.

When a parent creates a child profile, they provide: the child's display name, belt rank, weight class, and optionally a date of birth. The parent controls all data associated with the child's profile.

Through parent-managed child profiles, we may collect:

• Display name (may be a nickname or first name only)
• Belt rank and stripe count
• Weight class
• Date of birth (optional, used to determine minor status)
• Training session logs (if the parent logs sessions on their behalf)
• Attendance records (gym check-in data)

We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, photos, or location data directly from children. All data is provided and controlled by the parent/guardian.

We require verifiable parental consent before collecting any personal information from children under 13. Consent is established through the parent's authenticated account — only a signed-in parent can create or manage a child profile.

For digital waiver signing on behalf of a minor, we require an additional guardian consent step with a unique, time-limited signing link sent to the guardian's verified email address.

Information from child profiles is used solely to:

• Display training progress to the parent/guardian
• Track belt progression and attendance within the gym
• Allow gym coaches to view class roster information
• Generate training statistics visible only to the parent

We do notuse children's data for advertising, AI model training, or any purpose beyond the core training log functionality.

We do not sell children's personal information. We may share limited data with:

• The gym where the child is a member (coach roster, attendance)
• Service providers necessary to operate the platform (Supabase for data storage, Clerk for authentication)

Parents and legal guardians have the right to:

• Review all personal information collected about their child
• Request deletion of their child's data at any time
• Refuse further collection or use of their child's information
• Transfer the child's account to the child when they reach the appropriate age

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@combatscore.app or use the “Remove” button in the Family Management section of your account.

Child profile data is retained only as long as the parent maintains the profile. When a parent removes a child profile, all associated data (training logs, attendance records, belt history) is permanently deleted within 30 days.

When a child reaches the age where they can manage their own account, parents can initiate an account transfer. This generates a one-time transfer link that allows the child to create their own independent CombatScore account while preserving their training history.
