Three channels (push, email, in-app), grouped by category. Tune them per-category so you only get pinged for the things that matter to you.
CombatScore sends three kinds of pings: push (mobile app), email, and in-app (the bell icon on the dashboard). Every notification belongs to a category, and you can turn each category on or off per channel.
Settings → Notifications. You'll see a matrix: categories down the left, channels across the top. Tap a cell to toggle.
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Streak | "Don't break your streak — log today" reminder (push only by default) |
| Class | Booking confirmations, waitlist promotions, class cancellations |
| Coach feedback | A coach left you a rating or note |
| Family | Spouse invite, kid event RSVPs, waiver-pending banners |
| Billing | Payment receipts, failed payments, refund decisions |
| Promotions | Belt or stripe promotion (one-time, you'll want this on) |
| Gym news | Owner-broadcast announcements, schedule changes |
| Platform | Outages, major releases, ToS updates |
Out of the box:
You can override any of this, anytime.
Push notifications require the CombatScore mobile app. iOS asks permission on first launch; Android asks on first push. If you accidentally declined:
Push respects your phone's Do Not Disturb. CombatScore doesn't override DND, even for "urgent" notifications.
Every email has an unsubscribe link in the footer. Hitting unsubscribe turns OFF that one category for email; it doesn't unsubscribe you from anything else.
If you've tuned the matrix but a specific email keeps arriving, it's probably a transactional email (receipts, password resets, waiver requirements). Those don't honor the matrix — they're legally required or operationally critical. Email support if a transactional message is firing when it shouldn't.
