Deleting a child's data

As the guardian of a managed kid account, you can delete it at any time. CombatScore honors this immediately — no friction, no retention loops.

What "delete" means

1. Soft delete (immediate). The kid's profile vanishes from the platform. Gyms see "former member" where they used to be. Training history is hidden but recoverable.
2. Hard delete (30 days). Every row tied to the kid is purged from the primary tables. After this, the data is gone — we cannot recover it.

The 30-day window matches COPPA's "reasonable retention period for accidental deletion recovery" guidance.

How to do it

1. Dashboard → Family → [Kid's name] → Edit.
2. Scroll to Danger zone.
3. Tap Delete this child's data.
4. Type the kid's display name to confirm.
5. Submit.

The kid disappears from your dashboard immediately.

During the 30-day grace

If you change your mind, email privacy@combatscore.app within 30 days with the kid's display name and your account email. We restore. After day 30, recovery is impossible.

What gets deleted

• Profile (name, photo, DOB, gender).
• All training sessions.
• All promotions.
• All coach feedback.
• All press/social entries.
• Gym memberships (the gym is also notified to delete their copy).
• Waivers (with statutory retention exception, see below).

What CANNOT be deleted

A small set of records is retained even after a deletion request, to comply with law:

• Financial records of payments made on the kid's behalf — required by tax law, retained 7 years (anonymized, no PII).
• Waivers — some states require gyms to retain signed waivers for a statutory period (typically 2-5 years). The waiver text and signature stay; the kid's name is replaced with a hash.
• Safety / incident reports if any — required by gym liability law in many states.

These exceptions match COPPA §312.10(a)(1) and CCPA §1798.105(d)(8).

Telling the gym(s)

Deletion notifies every gym the kid was enrolled at. The gym is required by the platform's terms to honor the deletion within 7 days. We monitor compliance and remove gyms from the platform if they repeatedly ignore it.

Why two stages?

Because accidental deletions happen. The grace period is the platform's gift to parents who clicked the wrong button or whose kid pestered them into it. Day 30 is non-negotiable — after that we owe you the privacy you asked for.
