Youth Safety Resources
Version 1.0 · Effective 2026-05-22
Parent-facing guidance. CombatScore takes minor safety seriously, but we are not a substitute for your involvement in your child's training.
What we do
See our Minor Protection Policy for the full picture. In short:
- No direct messaging for athletes under 18.
- AI features disabled by default for under-13s; opt-in with parent acknowledgment for 13-17s.
- Identity verification required for coaches who teach minors.
- Parent visibility into all child activity, with weekly digests.
- Mandatory acknowledgment of our Coach Code of Conduct.
What your gym should do
Background checks for instructors and gym staff are the gym's responsibility — not CombatScore's. Before enrolling your child:
- Ask the gym about their youth safety policy.
- Ask whether instructors who teach kids have been background-checked.
- Ask whether the gym uses SafeSport-style training or equivalent.
- Ask how the gym handles concerns or incidents.
What you should do
- Stay involved. Watch a class periodically. Talk to other parents.
- Talk to your child about safe-touch boundaries and what to do if something feels wrong.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels off, look into it.
- Use the resources below.
